Your smile is one of your many assets! Studies have shown that your smile is one of the many things that people notice when they first meet you! A healthy and bright smile is beautiful and can help you feel better about yourself and make a memorable impression on others.
The colour of your teeth is influenced by a number of factors:
- red wine
- certain foods
At Queens Road Dental Care we have some ideal solutions to help you achieve a whiter, healthier smile:
- First see our dentists for a full assessment to check your suitability
- Then see our hygienist for stain removal
- Then consider the home whitening kit (this is the safest and most predictable way of whitening)
The home whitening kit
After your initial consultation for teeth whitening firstly we take some impressions of your teeth in surgery, then we send the impressions off to the dental laboratory where they construct a set of wafer thin bleaching trays (a bit like mouthguards) to fit against your teeth. We will also show you how to fit the tooth whitening trays and how the process works. You can take control of how far you intend to whiten your teeth. With home whitening it will usually take approximately 2 weeks of home gel application. This can either be done by wearing the trays containing the gel, twice a day for 30 minutes each or nightly for two hours (depending on what gel is recommended). Remember, everyone is different and your dentist will give you a more detailed consultation on what to expect personal to you at your initial appointment.
Have you ever considered having veneers or crowns? With veneers and crowns your problems can be solved, whether you are unhappy with the size, shape and colour of your teeth we can alter this to gain you the winning smile.
Veneers are used as a cover over your natural teeth. They are made out of porcelain and very little tooth is drilled away in preparation of this. Veneers are great for your whole smile, the shape, colour and alignment of your teeth and are designed to cover stains, close gaps and straighten teeth.
Crowns are great for teeth that are heavily damaged. Crowns can improve the strength and appearance of your teeth making you feel a lot more confident.
